For the Caramel Sauce
- 1/4 Cup Salted Butter
- 2/3 Cup Brown Sugar
- 2 Tbsps Golden Syrup/Honey
For the Cake
- 1 Cup Salted Softened Butter
- 1 ¼ Cup White Sugar
- 4 Large Eggs
- 2 Cups Plain Flour
- 1 ½ Tsp Baking Powder
- 1/4 Tsp Salt
- 3 Tbsps Golden Syrup/Honey
- 3/4 Cup Milk

- 1/2 Cup Chocolate Chips/Pecans/Walnuts
Instructions:
For the Caramel Sauce
- In a medium size sauce pan, add your butter, brown sugar and golden syrup1/4 Cup Salted Butter, 2/3 Cup Brown Sugar, 2 Tbsps Golden Syrup/Honey
- Place on medium-high heat and stir continuously until the butter has melted and the brown sugar has dissolved (around 5-7 mins)
- Let sit, off of the heat for around 1 minute
- Pour your caramel sauce into a 10-inch cake pan that is greased and lined with parchment paper
- Leave your caramel to set at room temp while you make the cake batter
For the Cake Batter
- Cream together your butter and white sugar until combined1 Cup Salted Softened Butter, 1 ¼ Cup White Sugar
- Whisk in your eggs until your batter is pale and fluffy 4 Large Eggs
- Gently whisk in your flour, baking powder, salt, honey, and milk 2 Cups Plain Flour, 1 ½ Tsp Baking Powder, 1/4 Tsp Salt, 3 Tbsps Golden Syrup/Honey, 3/4 Cup Milk
- Be sure not to over mix (use a spatula at the end to mix more gently)

- Preheat your oven to 160ºC
- By now your caramel should be set enough so that when you press it with your finger, no caramel sticks to your hand
- Spread your chocolate chips or nuts over the caramel, make sure to spread evenly 1/2 Cup Chocolate Chips/Pecans/Walnuts
- Spoon your batter into your cake pan, about a cup at a time, so you don’t disturb your caramel
- Bake your Cake in your preheated oven for around 30 mins or until a toothpick inserted into your cake comes out clean
- Once out of the oven, let your cake sit for around 5-10 mins and then turn it out onto a plate
