How I came up with this Cookie Recipe
Hey guys, welcome back to another recipe. Today I’m showing you a staple cookie recipe shared in my household. With all the chocolate chip cookie recipes available on the internet, the most common type seems to be the classic chewy on the inside and slightly crispy on the edges, gooey cookie. Although this is a classic staple, there are also times when I crave a slightly different type of cookie; a more cakey cookie.
Growing up with recipes from the likes of British Baking Icons such as Mary Berry, my childhood was filled with a plethora of cakey cookies. This recipe is an ode to that nostalgic taste and texture of a soft, cake-like cookie.

Easy Chocolate Chip Cookie Recipe
Ingredients
- 1 Cup Salted Softened Butter
- 1/4 Cup White Sugar
- 1 Cup Light Brown Sugar
- 1 Large Egg
- 1 Tbsp Milk
- 2 Cups Plain Flour
- 1/2 Tsp Baking Soda
- 1/4 Tsp Baking Powder
- 1 ½ Cup Chocolate Chunks any chopped up chocolate
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 200ºC
- Cream the softened butter and sugars together until combined
- Add your egg and 1 tbsp of milk, mix until pale and fluffy
- Gently mix in your flour, baking soda and baking powder
- Fold in your chocolate chunks and place spoonfuls of dough onto your cookie sheet
- Bake in your preheated oven for about 10 mins or until your cookies are golden brown
- Enjoy!
